Wiki Backlinks to Increase Search Engine Rankings

This will be a very quick post but I wanted to mention that for over a month I have been testing Wiki links on several different types of domains.  I have tested Wiki backlinks on Amazon.com kindle, Youtube videos, Facebook fanpages, and some high page rank web 2.0 social network profiles.

The Results of Wiki Backlinks?

The results of these types of backlinks has been fantastic.  I was somewhat suprised at first because the majority of these are nofollow links, but as many of us have found in the past, nofollow backlinks to increase search engine rankings.  Many of the wikis I have had backlinks built on are on high page rank domains, a mix of low to high pr.

Since the results of the test were very positive I decided to purchase my own Wiki software and have been running it for a couple days.  I spent nearly $200 on Fiverr.com jobs on these Wiki backlinks tests so I figured it would be best to get my own link building software in order to do these myself.

High Indexing Rate

I don’t know what the indexing rate would be if I left them alone to get crawled by Google so I can only give you the indexing rates of what I have found using Nuclear Link Indexer.

Here are the stats from 1 job -

4,047 wiki backlinks submitted to NLI on 3/9/2012

3/29/12 – 1,819 links indexed or 44.5% indexed in only 3 weeks with 2,200 still in progress.  So I expect the indexing rate to be well over 50%.

On jobs I submitted a week ago I am seeing about a 30-35% indexing rate.  That’s quite good if you ask me.

I won’t divulge the keyword in this example but it is a Youtube that is ranking #3 for a high competition term.  Not bad for a Fiverr.com job and some indexing.

So if you were looking for a new place to get backlinks since the brutal blog deindexing massacre of Google you should give Wiki links a try.  Google will eventually devalue wiki links, but hey, they work now so use Wiki backlinks while you can!

Google Blog Network Massacre Continues

For the last several weeks private and public blog networks have been getting absolutely crushed by Google and the team of Matt Cutts with his spam team.  This looks like a calculated attack to go after a lot of them at the same time.  It’s actually extremely easy for Google to track down these blog networks.  All they have to do is join any network and start posting to it while watching the links come in.

I belonged to several networks that got severely axed and lost quite a few backlinks.  I don’t follow basketball but you could say I’m taking part in my own “March Madness” watching various rankings fall while some mysteriously rise.  I’ve spent the better part of 3 weeks analyzing data to make adjustments to my internet marketing and SEO campaigns.

Which Blog Networks are Being Deindexed

SEO Elite Linkvine – 95% deindexed

SEONitro – 90% deindexed

SEOLink Monster – 95% deindexed

BacklinkBuddy – 90% deindexed

Elite Network – Gone…….

ALN – lost 25% of its network this week (that’s over 5,000 domains deindexed)

High PR Society – major deindexing right now

Why Are Networks Being Deindexed?

I can tell you that SEO Elite Linkvine, SEONitro, and Backlinkbuddy are 90% deindexed because I had VIP accounts on all of them so I had access to the data and would regularly check domains to see if they were still viable.  What really troubles me is the lack of communication from these networks because they are still posting away on dead domains and taking money from their customers.

I actually had a chance to speak with Dori Friend a couple weeks ago at Yanik Silvers Underground in Washington and she said they were making some big changes and she offered me 2 months of my memberships for free – but as of right now I am not using them because there is no point posting to a bunch of deindexed websites.

There were way too many websites packed on each IP address with other quality issues like limitless outbound links and posts per day.  Before just saying how that isn’t a smart way to build a network let’s first realize that it has worked just find up until March 2012.  Most networks would experience a 10% deindexing rate which was normal, so in order to keep costs down and revenue higher it made sense to continue doing what was working.  Finding a good SEO Host is nearly impossible and its expensive to run these networks so I know that noone was really proactively looking at trying to expand worldwide to as many IPs as possible while limiting clients and outbound links.  It gets very expensive very fast to run these networks.

Why Does Google Care About Us Renegade Link Builders?

With Googles heavy push on deindexing the costs associated with SEO and link building have just went up and it honestly it starts tipping the scales in favor of PPC which is exactly what they are going for.  Google is looking to increase their ad revenue, it’s their business model of course.  You can always go over to SEOmoz and see how the white strategy is working for them.  It’s actually not working which is why I encourage you to go read the article I just linked to.

Should we all throw in the towel and start up our Google Adwords campaigns?  It really depends on your keywords and how well your website converts into leads and sales.  There is no black and white answer for that.  Everyone has such different metrics when it comes to their websites and revenue that for some they are going to continue doing adds and pay the extra costs of increasing prices within SEO.

Basic SEO and Link Building Is Still Working

I have spotted some competitors that have risen in the rankings very quickly using home page backlinks networks, so there are still networks out there that are very powerful and effective at raising rankings but it is only a matter of time before Google deindexes those networks.

Keep building quality links and you will continue to rise in the search engine rankings.  I would focus a lot on social networks for backlinks and getting a lot of social signals from people sharing your content.  If you haven’t started video marketing I would encourage you to do so.  It’s quick and easy to get a Youtube video ranking and if you don’t like making a video then do what I did and have a video made on Fiverr.com.  Here is a video I had done for $5 on how to get backlinks.

You would be surprised at how easy it is to get these to rank with just a handful of backlinks from social networking sites like Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, Multiply and the list goes on and on but you can check out this list here http://100freebacklinks.com/social-networking-sites-list-for-backlinks.

Easiest Way to Get Quality Contextual Backlinks

The only things I promote to my subscribers list are actual products and services that I use for my SEO business and clients.  Back in December I was contacted by the owner from Postlinks about promoting their service.  We had a good conversation on the phone and I politely told him that I don’t promote anything unless I’ve tested it, find a lot of value, and then actually use it myself.

Last week I sent out an email about a free 1 month trial of Postlinks because my testing had ended and I have officially endorsed Postlinks as a fantastic way to build links for those of you out there that do not want to write and spin articles or use complicated SEO software.

So how is Postlinks different, and easy for you?

The network consists of 10,000 blogs all PR1 to PR5 and all independently owned by thousands of real people throughout the world giving you extreme diversity.  The blogs are already loaded with content.  Here is the cool thing – put your keywords in and search all 10,000 blogs to see if there are already content articles where you can simply place a contextual link.  You will get a list of sites with the designated page rank and title of the articles.  Simply click on which articles you want your link placed.  A completely natural contextual link is placed right where your keyword is sitting.  Your HTML backlink instantly replaces the plain text where your keyword is.  Instant backlinks!

Then you can get the URL of the link so that you can give it a few social bookmarks.  All links get indexed automatically because they send the new URL’s through social networks.

There is no software, just a very simple to use web interface.  Login, place your links into articles and you are done.

What If There Are No Articles with Your Keywords?

If you have an odd longtail keyword that cannot be found anywhere across the 10,000 blogs you have a couple more options.

1) You can write an article and place on a site with the PR of your choosing.  Choose a PR1 site for 5 credits or a PR5 site for 40 credits.  If your backlinks profile is weak and you don’t have many contextual links on trusted blogs I suggest you get links on PR3 to PR5 websites.   You can submit a spun article or you can buy credits to outsource the article and have it written.

2) If you do not want to write an article or have a lower budget and can’t pay to outsource it then the other option is you can pick blogs between PR1-PR5 that are relevant to your niche and leave a comment on the post.  The comments are all Dofollow, autoapproved, and can be written by you.  Typically you will be the only comment on the entire page so your link will get the most juice and it will have a positive effect on rankings.

Chances are you’ll be able to find several articles that are already in the system with your keywords so all you need to do is search and place your link.

Try Postlinks free for 30 days and test to see how much you can increase your rankings.
Be sure your pages are very well optimized on page and you should be able to get them
on page 1 of Google.  Remember, onsite SEO optimization is more important than ever.
